Pattern and textures in Photoshop. In this Photoshop tutorial, you are going to learn how you can apply different patterns and textures to your images in Photoshop. This is one of those all-purpose tutorials that you can read to discover how Photoshop allows you to turn even the most average looking pictures into something cool. With this easy to follow tutorial, you should be able to get started right away.
1. Open any image in Photoshop. This is the image we will be using for this tutorial:

2. Open a new layer in Photoshop and rename it to Pattern layer. Fill (SHIFT+F5) this layer with # 959595.

3. Double click the pattern layer to make the following changes:

4. Now duplicate the original background layer again, and then drag this layer on top of the Pattern layer.

5. Change the Opacity of the current layer to 55%.

6. Next, we are going to open this texture image onto Photoshop and then click and drag it onto the original document:

7. Change its Blend Mode from Normal to Overlay.
8. Change the Opacity of this texture layer to 70%.

9. Again, we are going to open this texture image onto Photoshop and then click and drag it onto the original document:

10. Change its Blend Mode from Normal to Overlay.
11. Change the Opacity of this texture layer to 60%.

12. Create a new Adjustment layer and choose Curves. Then make the following changes:

13. Open a new layer in Photoshop and FILL (CTRL+J) this layer with # acacac.

14. Change its Blend Mode from Normal to Color Burn. Change the Opacity of the layer to 40%.
15. Go to: Filter > Render > Lighting Effect. Then make the following changes:
