Creating a marble stone text effect in Photoshop

Note: This tutorial has been carried out using Adobe Photoshop CS5. In this tutorial you will learn how to create marble stone text effect in photoshop.

Final Result:

Open a texture image in Photoshop. Width 600 and Height 340.

2)  Change the Foreground and Background color to #bc9753 and #542705, respectively.

3)  Select the Gradient Tool and make the following changes in the Tool Options Bar above:

4)  Using the Gradient Tool draw a horizontal line starting from the centre of the document and ending on the extreme left. This creates the following background:

5)  Open a new layer.

6)  Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool.

7)  Create an ellipse and place it on the lower portion of the document.

8)  Again, using the Gradient Tool, draw a horizontal line starting from the center of the ellipse and ending on the extreme left of the ellipse. This is what the result should look like:

9)  Select the Text Tool and make the following changes to the Character Settings:

10)  Type the text “LAYER” and place it on the center of the document.

11)  Open Layer Style for the Text Layer and make the following changes:

The Color of Shadow has been set to #542705.
