Text Color Reflection tutorial in Photoshop. Sometimes it’s the little touch ups that bring out the very best in your creative work. In this tutorial, you will learn to create a contrasting Color Reflection which is not only elegant, but simply demanding.

1.  Open a new document with Width 600, Height 340.

2.  Set the Gradient Tool as shown below:

3. Create a Reflected Gradient as your background from the middle of the image to the bottom left corner.

4. Now create your text using any color. The font is ‘Arial Rounded.’

5. Press CTRL and click text thumbnail. A selection will appear around the text.

6. Go to Select > ModifyContract.

7. Contract by: 50 pixels.

8. Create a new layer under the text layer and Fill the selection space with any color.

9. Go to 3D > Repousse > Current Selection

10. Make the following changes:

11. Open Layer 1 Extrusion Material and Fill this with the same color too (blue). Now close this window.

12. Select the text layer (PSL).

13. Go to 3D > Repousse > Current Selection

14. Make the following changes:

15. Open PSL Extrusion Material and Fill this with the same color too (Pink). Now close that window.

16. Select the two 3D layers (Layer 1 and PSL)

17. Go to 3D > 3D Merge Layers

As the two layers merge, the text will disappear. But that’s alright.

18.  Go to Window > 3D.

19. Open the 3D (Mesh) tab.

20. Select your text layer (PSL) from the two options (see below).

21. Choose the 3D Mesh Slide Tool.

22. Slowly drag your cursor across the image vertically. Before you do this, ensure that the selection is on PSL and not the blue area. Your text will reappear. Rearrange it to look like the image below. It must not bulge out too much.

23. Now click Layer 1 Front Inflation material in the 3D (Materials) tab.

Make the following changes:

24. Now click PSL Front Inflation material in the 3D (Materials) tab.

Make the following changes:

25. Now click PSL Extrusion Material in the 3D (Materials) tab.

Make the following changes:

26. Now open the 3D (Lights) tab.

Set the position of the lights as shown below:

27.  In the 3D (Scene) tab, scroll up and select Scene and make the following changes:

This will smoothen the surface of both layers and a slight color reflection will appear.
